The Stand-Up Lifesource Blood Pressure Monitor UA-853AC – One Real Workhorse of a Monitor
Some of you, that follow my reviews, may have already figured out that blood pressure monitor reviews are one of my favorite products to report on. Being a long time member of the medical product review community, I know all too well, how dangerous not being proactive about your health can be. I like to call this HCL (Health Care Laziness), and far more people are guilty of it than would like to admit.
For those in their ‘Golden Years’, or those fast approaching them, blood pressure monitors can be invaluable in helping them maintain good cardiovascular health. I don’t write these reviews, because I enjoy them; I write them because they provide information to people about important products. Frankly, I believe there should be a blood pressure monitor in every home.
Well enough small talk, let’s review the Lifesource UA-853AC Stand-Up Blood Pressure Monitor. I usually like to review the more portable types (because I travel a lot myself) of blood pressure monitor. Nonetheless, I have to admit that the larger monitors, like the UA-853AC are more accurate and have more features. The Lifesource UA-853AC leaves nothing lacking, when comes to available features in a home monitor.
The Lifesource UA-853AC Stand-Up Blood Pressure Monitor is a rock, and as dependable or accurate as any model we have tested. While not so cheap as some home monitors you will find; it is less expensive than some other less capable BP monitors. If you consider all of the features this unit has to offer, it should be considered a very good value.
Most important of the units many features is the invaluable Irregular Heartbeat Detection technology, found in this Lifesource monitor. IHD allows a user to know when irregularities occur that could be signs of arrhythmia issues. Irregular heartbeat conditions detected by the monitor can then be discussed with a physician and further diagnosed. I cannot stress enough how valuable this feature could potentially be for some people. Having already been around a few years, the technology has proven effective in saving lives. Detecting arrhythmia issues early can help a patient stave off a potential heart attack or stroke.
Another very useful feature of this particular monitor is the TimeWise system of automatically differentiating between morning and evening BP readings. In addition, the monitor stores both morning and evening reading averages. This can help a physician determine medicine dosages. Those taking medication for high blood pressure or hypertension are aware that many times day and night dosages can vary. Taking these reports to your doctor will only to serve to make him more effective in your treatment.
The Lifesource UA-853AC also has the ability to ring an alarm at 3 different times to remind you to take your medication (a nice touch for the slightly absentminded) It also has a logging feature that stores your last ninety pressure check results. These logging and reporting results, enable your doctor better gauge the effectiveness of any potential medications. With its large LCD Display, reading your pressure check result is easy and understandable.
This monitor is very well made and designed to last. Lifesource offers a full lifetime warranty on its BP monitors.
Overall the UA-853AC Lifesource Monitor is a well made, first-rate, quality Blood Pressure Monitor that does everything we can expect a monitor to do. The size of the unit prohibits it from being classified as very convenient for travel purposes; although it could be packed in a larger overnight bag or such.
With reasonable care and use, this Lifesource Monitor will provide you with years of quality and accurate Blood Pressure Results. The UA-853AC unit is moderately priced and is well worth the money. This workhorse performs.
