Structured Settlements: Selling your payments

Written by Post on Friday, January 15th, 2010 in Finance.

Owning a structured settlement annuity gives you a lot of benefits. Structured settlement payments are advantageous in providing financial security on a long term basis for you and your family and the payments as well as interest earned are free from taxes. Also there is no legal hurdle in using this money either for your emergency situations or for high yielding investments.

You can sell your structured settlement payments legally in US as per the federal law HR 2884, and this sale can be made without your paying any tax. ) About two-thirds of the states in the United States also permit sale of structured settlement payments. In both cases, however, the transaction must be approved in court in order to stay tax free.

Selling Your Structured Settlement

It is not difficult to get approval of the court for selling part or full quantum of your structured settlement payments provided you are able to prove your genuine requirement for money. The presiding judge will go through your case and give his judgment based on whether this sale will be in you and your family’s interest or not.

Any adult with a sound mind can get court approval for selling his structured settlement payments as long as he can prove that he and his family will get benefitted by this transaction. You ensure that you attend the hearing in the court on that day which may help your cause much. Sale of structured settlement payments is permissible without court approval but you will be taxed on the payments and also its interest.

In all probability, the purchasing company with whom you have been discussing might be willing to purchase your structured settlement payments. However, they may have to do additional legal work in order to ensure that the sale is completed. You are not charged for this extra effort; however, without court approval, you may be liable to pay taxes on the money you receive.

First, you must get quotes. Getting quotations from a number of companies will be in your interest because you could select the best one for you. If you like a quote that is given, you will send in copies of the structured settlement policy to the purchasing company. You will receive from the purchasing company a disclosure document which you are expected to sign. You will find in this document the details of the conditions of the transaction. You must sign and return after you go through the document thoroughly.

The next step is to get the court order. The duration for court approval depends on your state of residence and also the state of residence of your insurance company and this will normally be about 90 days. Under normal circumstances you will receive your money within 10 days after court approval.

Paternity Fraud Harms our Kids

Written by Post on Friday, January 15th, 2010 in Home & Family.

The harm caused by paternity fraud is not in doubt.  Think about this…  A Woman’s Day poll shows that 50%+ of the respondants would willfully lie about paternity in order to secure child support.  DNA tests performed against men named by the mothers show that 30% of them are totally innocent.. were excluded as the childs biological father.  Having no recourse for victims of paternity fraud is designed into the system by the State.    That if you, your husband, your son, your father is named as “the dad” then they will pay… forever.  And the damage inflicted on marriages, families, the health of the victim, his family, and the deceived children themselves is preventable and unnecessary.

And it seems that there is no help in sight.  Pleading to Legislatures to put truth and justice into the system falls on deaf ears.  Federal funds are distributed to States for every child support case they process and manage.  As long as they can name anyone and make them pay the State government gets the benefit of Federal largess.  There arn’t support groups, financial assistance, counseling, or any other help available to the families who are paying for children they had no part in bringing in to this world.  “But what about these children?” is a common rebuke we hear.  Well, what about these children?    Since the mother of these children either lied or simply doesn’t know who the real father is these children have no valid paternal medical history available.  They are emotionally damaged due to the lie their mother constructed for them to live.  Money collected on their behalf cannot fix this.  Only by honoring the real truth can.

The mothers that choose to lie (or just don’t know which guy) fathered their children are the only beneficiaries of this fraud.  This is not in the best interest of our children.  Many States consider their forcing non-biological “fathers” to pay is part of mandating parental relationships with the children.  Most of the cases we’ve seen the mothers are preventing contact, have moved away, or they have never had contact with the children.    Sometimes this is the man’s choice.     However there are hundreds of thousands of cases where all these mothers really want for their child is money. They do not believe that having a father in their child’s life is important and even if they do they are ignoring the real father of the child.  Children are inflicted with damage that will never heal when they discover that the person their mother told them was their father isn’t.  Where they really come from and who is the real dad stresses them out even further.  All since their mother either doesn’t know who fathered her children or has chosen to lie about it.

Then you look at the biological children of this same man….  They have to live with the lack of finances, high stress, and demoralization of a system that should be preventing this.    These children have to suffer financially and emotionally throughout their lives. Many times these children are in an environment filled with stress, hardship, and marital difficulty caused solely by paternity fraud.  The hardships of this are something they should not have to suffer.  They see that they can benefit from fraud and lying.  What message is it that we are sending to these children?    Allowing paternity fraud is definitely not in their best interest.

We need to end this injustice to our children.  We need to make a positive example in Missouri and show every other State that paternity fraud will not be tolerated here.  The time to end paternity fraud in Missouri is now.  Our children cannot afford less.

Are 50cc Scooters The Answer To Saving Money?

Written by Post on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 in Automotive.

money is something we are all in need of in these challenging times, should we not try to save it anyway we can. Besides paying for food and house expenses, paying for gas for our cars is one of the biggest we have each week. Depending upon what kind of car you have and how far you have to travel, you could be spending as much as $ 150-$ 200 a week just on gasoline. You are exactly the person that needs to start looking at 50cc scooters as an alternative to firing up that big engine all the time.

Cars, of course, are a better vehicle for carrying many passengers or in unclimate weather. But what about when you are just running errands in the city on short trips? Is there really any need to use the gas guzzler and add another bill to the growing stack? Now you are adding another tank of gas to something that is already draining you. You can get between 80-100MPG on a 50cc scooter! Imagine how much cash that will put in your pocket by the end of the year.

As you already know, it is never easy to park in the city. It can even be a problem when you are running out to the grocery store. Make a life a little easier on yourself and do these tasks with a 50cc scooter. You can find so many more places to park with scooters. No more driving around the lot for hours waiting for someone else to pull out. You can be in the front row anytime you like!

Another great thing about the 50cc moped scooter is how easy they are to weave in and out of traffic. You don’t have that luxury when you are driving around in your BMW. You just get to wait in that long line like everyone else and watch the minutes and hours tick away on your watch. Who wouldn’t like to get more time back?

While these are some of the reasons, there are plenty of other ones as well. Think about the lower insurance rate that you are going to have to pay and how about the time that you will save because of some of the things we mentioned above. Lose your frustrations and save a few bucks in the process by merely traveling around the city on a 50cc scooter. Are you begining to see that traveling around on a scooter moped may be wise. You save both time and money and there isn’t a person alive that doesn’t want to do that.

Why Focus on the Most Influential Sense in Your Ads?

Written by Post on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 in Business.

No one takes in any information without it going through one or more of their five senses. Advertisers too must get their message through the same gates. At times the sense of smell is central. The smell from a bakery draws consumers to buy some fresh backed goods. The taste test is used in commercials for soda drinks or pizza. Pictures of food as you enter a restaurant will bring good memories of its flavor. When buying a bed, touch is the main seller. Consumers want to try out the various options to imagine how comfortable it would be for eight hours.

Of the five senses, sight is by far the most influential. In fact, researches discovered that 80% of what we learn is learned through the eyes. Most of the rest is learned through hearing. This means that radio ads must get the consumer to capture a vision, smell, feeling, taste of the product through words alone.

Advertisers are smart to keep that 80% in mind when planning their ads. If they can include sounds, that’s even better. But printed ads can be read over and over and thus influence more people than sound alone.

Visual advertisement uses words and pictures. Words are abstract representations of real objects. The word ‘mom’ brings to mind a person, and good or bad memories. Words can also represent products. Some slogans have become famous. One of the best know was the Wendy’s ad phrase, “Where’s the beef?” Though mostly heard, it sold millions of hamburgers.

The quantity of words is rarely as important as the quality.  People are busy and rushed. The message of the ad must be quick and catchy and informative, yet must give the message without boredom. This is a hard balance.

Humor, when appropriate, is an excellent way to capture the attention of the public. For example, Alaska airlines portrayed their company’s strength through exaggerating the competition’s weaknesses. It was humorous and kept people watching, and flying with them for several years.

Sometimes the ad is so brief that it only reminds consumers of facts they already know. The colors of Pepsi alone will sell the product. A motto or logo or symbol without words will associate their need with the company’s product. In other words, the picture is all the ad needed.

So, we see that the use of visual and audio, of effective words, and of humor make an ad memorable. This takes time and creativity to achieve. Once this is in hand, the advertiser must choose where he will publish this written message. One creative approach is to fly the ad on a banner over a large group of people. Banner ads have been shown to be effective in taking a message to the public in a memorable way. When you consider that the drone of the plane engine adds an audio attention getter, you understand that this method incorporates both sight and sound to effectively drive the message home.

When you are confident your message appeals effectively, it is time to contact an aerial advertising company and begin the process of getting it into the air. In no time, your well planned message will be presented to thousands of people and the impact for you will begin to be seen.

Basically, a clairvoyant is simply someone who has clairvoyance powers, in that they can often see things before they happen. As such, the powers which they possess are for the most part referred to as ‘extrasensory perception’, second sight, or sixth sense, and this phenomenon is something which can be traced as far back as the eighteenth century. In fact, literature from that era is full of accounts relating to seers and profits, and it’s a well known fact that in those years clairvoyants were highly respected people. Such was their standing in society that they were often called upon by powerful leaders for the sake of giving advice and guidance.

The word ‘clairvoyante’ or ‘clairvoyant’ is a derivative of French which literally means, “clear vision”. Even so, one could in fact say that clairvoyance has several meanings, considering that while some clairvoyants have powers in terms of receiving visions, others may read and interpret signs. Likewise, some may hear messages, while others will rely solely on their inner voice.

Anyone practicing clairvoyance is known as a clairvoyant but of course such people can vary dramatically in terms of the skill they possess. Even so, the majority of them are able to see into the future and as such they can provide people with an opportunity to see what is still yet to come. In fact, those which are highly skilled can often see events which took place in the past, while some even have the ability to move beyond the realms of the living, and in so doing, they are able to communicate with the dead.

Many people believe that everyone possesses such powers when we are born, but due to the way in which we are brought up, such powers don’t fit in with what’s considered to be the normal way of life, and so it ends up being that not many people are able to develop their ability to its full potential. It’s hardly surprising then that the vast majority, who do manage to develop the skills, are in fact children of clairvoyant parents who in turn have invested an adequate amount of time in order to teach the skills to their offspring.

In the vast majority of cases, learning the skills usually begins with medication as this practice allows people to relieve themselves of stress and negativity. Meditation also enables a person to open up their mind in order to receive messages coming from the universe, which is why clairvoyants should ideally set aside at least half an hour each day so that they can spend time in a calm atmosphere in order to practice meditation.

Those people who are learning how to develop their skills are always taught that they should never attempt to force clairvoyance, but rather to have an open mind so that it can come of its own accord. To a great extent, this scenario could be compared to a person misplacing their keys. In most cases, it is only once you have calmed down that you find your keys.

Of course, as you manage to increase your power, you may begin including several other methods of clairvoyance, such as Tarot cards, palm reading, and etcetera. In fact, some of these alternative methods will very likely help you to understand, and to interpret some of the messages you receive.

You need to bear in mind that the more your skills develop the more you’ll end up relying on your instincts, and as such, they become an integral part of your powers. This instinct which is often referred to as the ‘inner eye’ is perhaps one of the most powerful tools a clairvoyant has at their disposal. In fact, many people have an inner eye which manifests itself by giving us what some refer to as a ‘gut feeling’. Most people have at some point instinctively known that something bad or good was about to happen. However, unlike clairvoyants, average people pay no attention to such feelings, let alone embrace them, and it’s only by embracing them that it becomes possible to develop clairvoyance.

Furthermore, your mental attitude plays a significant role in terms of whether or not you have the ability to receive messages. The same applies, with regards to your immediate environment, in that if you live in chaos and your life is full of negativity, it will be impossible for you to clear your mind enough so that messages can be received. For this reason, clairvoyants often practice Feng shui, even if their lives are calm and positive.

You’ll also find that practically all clairvoyants make use of aromatherapy, and even crystals, in order to rid their environment of negative energy. Furthermore, most clairvoyants also practice yoga in order to achieve a calm and peaceful spirit so that they can unlock the power within. While this may be sufficient enough for some, others also make use of hypnosis in order to read the mind and body of negativity completely.

Unlike some people tend to believe, clairvoyants don’t spend all their time staring into a crystal ball, but instead, many of them have built a successful career around the use of their skills. This can be done by offering readings, contributing to magazine columns, making predictions, making appearances on television, or even writing books. In fact, some also make their services available to numerous law enforcement agencies which seek assistance with regards to locating missing people and also for helping them to solve crimes.
