How To Stop Procrastinating And Achieve Your Goals

Written by Post on Tuesday, June 9th, 2009 in Self Improvement.

Those who consider procrastination to be simply a matter of laziness do not fully understand the psychology of the problem and instead claim that a kick is the only reliable way to stop procrastination. On the other hand, even those people who understand that procrastination may be a manifestation of a deeper rooted problem may still consider that the perpetrator is procrastinating about seeking help.

Some people who have a tendency to procrastinate may in fact be suffering from depression or even attention deficit disorder which can both be underlying causes of procrastination. While procrastination is considered a behavior disorder, by treating other diagnosed issues it may be possible to offer a method to stop the procrastination at the same time. It is often recommended that chronic procrastinators visit a therapist or other mental health professional to determine if there are associated treatable issues causing them to consistently put things off.

Therapy has been a useful process for people to change many behaviors such as phobias and, for example, the fear of flying. These types of upsets in a person’s psychological balance cannot always be treated with medication, but a therapist can offer them a better understanding of why they display the particular behavior. Through this type of treatment a person can usually begin to stop procrastination~change the procrastination habit~stop procrastinating if it is required.

Continued Procrastination Can Lead To Addictions

When a person continues to put off doing certain tasks, they usually focus their attention on other, sometimes solitary projects. It is possible that someone who fails to set about stopping their procrastination will end up addicted to the computer, if that is what they turn to to take their focus away from something that needs to be done. Taking refuge behind a computer screen offers self-justification for putting something off, but an addiction to the internet or computer gaming may be a sign that procrastination help is needed.

Attention deficit disorder, while typically associated with children, has lately become a more common diagnosis for adults who cannot remained focussed on one thing for a long time. When this leads to procrastination, seeking help for attention deficit disorder can also lead to a means of stopping the procrastination.

In the majority of cases procrastination is displayed as an avoidance behavior where the individual will perform other tasks unrelated to the project they are ignoring. By learning and adjusting to new behaviors, as well as understanding what draws their focus away from their planned project, a cure for procrastination can be found.

Part of the process of stopping procrastination is learning to set smart goals. Setting achievable goals~How to set achievable goals and taking steps towards those goals can create breakthroughs in many areas of our lives.

What are the known Effects of Absinthe?

Written by Post on Monday, June 8th, 2009 in Food & Drink.

Now that Absinthe is again legal in many countries around the world, people are asking “What are the effects of Absinthe?”, “Will it make me trip out?”, “Will this cause me to see the Green Fairy?”.

The drink Absinthe is a mythical drink with many legends and stories surrounding it. Created in Switzerland as an elixir by Dr Pierre Ordinaire, it quickly became a best selling alcoholic beverage when Henri-Louis Pernod started distilling it in France. In fact , Absinthe overtook beer, cider and even wine as the most popular drink in France in the period known as La Belle Epoque, the golden age leading up to the First World War.

Famous drinkers of Absinthe include Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Oscar Wilde who said “After the first glass of Absinthe you see things as you wish they were. After the second you begin to see them as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, and that is the one of the most horrible thing in the world.”

Pernod made Absinthe from a wine base and flavored it with natural herbal ingredients such as wormwood, fennel, aniseed, star anise, veronica, dittany, lemon balm, hyssop, nutmeg, angelica and dittany. Many manufacturers used additional herbs such as coriander, calamus root and mint.

So, what are the major effects of Absinthe?

Absinthe was popular in the time known as “The Great Binge”. This was a time when beverages containing cocaine were popular and the time when heroin was thought safe to use in medicine. Absinthe was linked to these types of drugs and thought to be psychoactive and so cause:-

– Hallucinations
– Hyper excitability
– Spasms and convulsions
– Destriction of the intellect
– Insanity
– Addiction
– Damages of the brain
– Violence
– Death

Artists and writers drank Absinthe to help them get inspiration and many said they it was responsible for their genius. Famous Absinthe poetry.

Absinthe, so the prohibition led people to believe, was going to drive the French people immoral and cause the collapse of the nation. Doctors tested wormwood and thujone, the chemical from wormwood , on animals and claimed that it was like cannabis and that it caused epileptic fits and the prohibition movement blamed Absinthe for causing a man to murder his whole family, despite the fact that he had only consumed two glasses of Absinthe and copious amounts of other alcoholic beverages. The consumption of Absinthe was also famously blamed for Van Gogh cutting off his own ear and for his suicide.

Absinthe was thought to contain large amounts of thujone, up to 350mg per liter but high tech tests on original vintage bottles have proved that claims about thujone levels and the safety of

Absinthe were completely false. Absinthe only contained very small amounts, up to 6mg, not enough to cause anyone to hallucinate. Studies have shown that Absinthe is just as safe as any other strong alcoholic drink.

Absinthe will not help you see green fairies but it is very strong drink, up to 75% alcohol — so will get your drunk rather quckly and easily. The mysterious blend of alcohol and herbs in Absinthe will give you a strange drunken experience, a “lucid” or “clear headed” drunkenness – a completely new experience!

So, what are the major effects of Absinthe? There are no bad effects except perhaps a hangover if you overdo it. Absinthe is a unique drink to be enjoyed slowly and to make you feel good. Buy good quality Absinthe which contains wormwood which is real or make your own with essences from AbsintheKit.come and enjoy the exciting taste of the Green Fairy. Are You Ready for Sudden Wealth?

Written by Post on Sunday, June 7th, 2009 in Finance.

Lotto Winner

Most of us fantasize at some point about sudden wealth. What if our dreams came true and we won a big-money contest, or the lottery, or inherited untold riches? Well, it does happen; what if it happens to you?

If you become a lotto winner your life is never ever going to be the same again. Not only your life, but your friends’ and relatives’ lives will also change, and the change may not be very pleasant. Life-altering things have happened to people who have suddenly attained the status of being a lotto winner.

No matter how you have won the lotto, whether you drew the winning numbers yourself or used the windows lotto pro software, the fact is that you will be richer by tens of millions of pounds or euros, and things will start to change almost immediately.

Winning a record prize of £ 11 million, Mark Gardiner thought that all his problems were a thing of the past. However, though his present problems vanished, he got into new ones that he was not capable of or trained to handling. Mark hit the jackpot with friend and business partner Paul Maddison. They had record winngs of £ 22 million and Mark got his share of £ 11 million. Paul shunned the limelight and retreated in the background while Mark decided to have some fun.

Before he could comprehend it, Mark went through half of his winnings. He gave to friends and relatives, bought expensive cars and houses, married and then divorced, but his problems never seemed to end. His family disowned him almost as if he had committed a crime. Finally, now wiser, Mark regained his bearings and remarried his first wife, a childhood sweetheart, whom he had divorced when he was penniless.

Gladly, however, not all stories are as heart breaking as the one mentioned above. There have been so many people who have made good on their fortune and remained grounded. Ianthe Fullagar, while a student, won an astonishing £ 7,055,142. After the traditional screaming in disbelief she settled down and called her boyfriend and family and shared the news with them. Ianthe intends to share her new found wealth with her near ones and to continue to pursue her degree in law. The main new thing she planned to buy was a new vehicle.

One generous anonymous winner, without batting an eye, donated all his $3 million winnings to his church. The church has decided to expand to accommodate the growing congregation and will also donate some of the money to charities.

The point is, as a lotto winner you now are in an enviable position to do a lot of good, both for yourself and for those around you. Your community also stands to benefit, but only if you maintain a cool head and spend the money wisely. It’s always a good idea to plan ahead — just in case.

Support The Red Cross - Liechtenstein Lotto has a guaranteed jackpot of EURO 20 million and is the only lotto that sponsors the Red Cross. Grab a lotto ticket so that some of your money will be going to much needed aid work all around the world!

What Percentage is Absinthe?

Written by Post on Sunday, June 7th, 2009 in Food & Drink.

Absinthe is a strong flavor liquor which is made by distilling alcohol with herbs. We know it is strong and can get you drunk easily, but what percentage is Absinthe and what is its proof?

Here are the alcohol by volume levels of popular brands of Absinthe:-

La Fee XS Absinthe Francaise 68% abv or 136 proof
Doubs Mystique Carte D’Or 65% abv is 130 proof
La Clandestine Absinthe 53% abv which is 106 proof
Jade Edouard 72% abv (144 proof)
Sebor is 55% alcohol by volume (110 proof)
Jade Nouvelle Orleans 68% abv (136 proof)
Mari Mayans Collectors 70 70% abv (140 proof)
La Fee Parisian 68% alcohol by volume (136 proof)
Lucid Absinthe 62% alcohol by volume = 124 proof
Jade Verte Suisse 65% abv or 130 proof
Pernod Absinthe 68% abv (136 proof)
Kubler 53 53% abv (106 proof)
Pere Kermanns 60% alcohol by volume or 120 proof
Jade PF 1901 which is 68% alcohol by volume is 136 proof
La Fee XS Absinthe Suisse 53% abv (106 proof)
Roquette 1797 is 75% abv or 150 proof
La Fee Bohemian 70% alcohol by volume (140 proof)

Let’s now compare Absinthe to other beverages:-

Whisky – Johnnie Walker Black Label Scotch 40% alcohol by volume is 80 proof
Absinthe can be up to 75% alcohol by volume (150 proof)
Table Wine 9-12% abv (18-24 proof)
Beer is only 4 or 5% alcohol by volume or 8-10 proof

Now, the information on the alcohol.com website worked out if you have 1 shot of Everclear which is 190 proof is equivalent to drinking two.8five bottles of beer and about 3 brandies. This information establishs that one shot of Absinthe is equivalent to two.25 bottles of beer. So, the 22 shots Absinthe is equivalent to 49.five cans of beer!

As you can see, Absinthe is much stronger than wine and beer and even stronger than whisky. Care needs to be used when consuming Absinthe because it is so strong and will intoxicate quickly. We need to take particular care when mixing Absinthe with other alcoholic drinks in cocktails.

Care needs to always be taken when your are making your own Absinthe for drinking. If you buy an Absinthe kit like Green Devil then you are simply steeping herbs in a neutral alcohol such as Everclear or vodka. Now, Everclear with an abv of 95% and a proof of 190 — is much stronger than commercial Absinthe. In the Absinthekit are Absinthe essences.some have been mixed with a neutral alcohol such as Everclear or vodka. Your finished Absinthe will be whatever the proof or abv of the neutral alcohol you used.

What percentage is in Absinthe? For commercial Absinthe just look on the bottle label or if ordering online, look at the product details for abv or proof. If you are making your own Absinthe from a kit, you need to look at the bottle of Everclear or vodka that you are using.
