Wonder where the shoe came from?

Written by Post on Thursday, February 11th, 2010 in Women's Interests.

Are All Those Women’s Shoes Necessary?

Women often regard shoes the same way men regard watches and treat them as pieces of jewelry more than something practical and usable. Many individuals purchase shoes when they need them or their old ones wear out. Of course, there are a wide variety of shoes for different occasions and purposes such as running shoes or dressier shoes, etc.

Origins of Shoes

The origins of the shoes was for the protection and safe guarding of human feet . The reasons, rather they are because of the elements or to prevent serious injury to the foot, shoes enabled man to travel further, faster and more efficiently . The first shoes were animals husks or basic sleeves of woven materials. Later on, shoes became much more elaborate as man learned how to better fabricate them as they honed their craft.

Most men needed shoes for hunting and gathering as it made their duties more bearable. . But women started making shoes fancier over time, adding designs and feminine elements. Because of this women’s shoes have become the elegant pieces you see in the modern era. Something extravagant and trendy that they cannot get enough of.

Anatomy of a Woman’s Shoe

Shoes are made from different parts and in different ways. Each component, down to the materials to the glue will determine the longevity of the individual shoe in question. They can be machine made or handcrafted. Cheap or expensive. Nice or junky or anywhere in between.

Sole - is bottom part where all the padding comes into play to give the wearer optimal support. Well padded shoes are made from multiple layers. Running shoes often have the best support and most padding, even times being made of space ages materials.

Insole – refers to the interior of a shoe. The foot rests on it drectly and in some cases is replaceable. This is a nice conveince as you can just purchase a replacement insole rather than having to spend money on an entirely new set of shoes.

Upper cover – refers to the top of the shoe. It also goes by the name of vamp in many womens shoes. Many women’s shoes, such as Taryn Rose shoes just have straps rather than a full upper cover. This allow the feet to air out and to be admired by others, especially since some women spend quite a bit of money on their nails.

Heel – An integral part of any shoes, this part is different from the rest of the shoes and was usually added on in the end and, like the insole, can be replaced in some cases. Many women wear heels because it gives them a tremendous height advantage. It’s very common for heels to become very narrow at the bottom and be a challenge for some women to walk in.

Women seem to have a shoe for every occasion. It’s not uncommon for women to have a different shoe for each day of the week and then some. Men have casual, dress and athletic shoes, women have all and a shoe for every day of the week.

Buyer’s Guide To Bed Linen

Written by Post on Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 in Women's Interests.

In the following article you will find the factors you need to consider when buying linen. Read about all the things you need to think about when choosing linen.

For some really grate bed linen ideas you can even look in any of the following:

paisley bed linens, gingerlily silk sheets, bed linen reviews

Even if most people will never get to see the interior of your bedroom or your linen for that matter, there is no reason why should not buy quality linen. This is your space and you should be comfortable and relaxed in it and quality bed linen can give you that feeling. With so many different types of linens to choose from how do you know which is the best?

Most people are familiar with the thread count and how it affects bed linen. Did you know that this fact is over rated and there are other factors to consider that make thread count rather insignificant? If you look at the types of material that are used in the manufacture of sheets you will realize that thread count is not a good standard of measure.

What do I mean? You could have a sheet that is let’s say 1 000 in thread count but made from nylon and one that is 600 and made from Egyptian cotton. The cotton fabric will have softer feel than the nylon one and is also stronger. There are also types that do no need ironing and the ones that do. If you are like me and do not like ironing then you might consider polycotton sheets.

Another thing to think about is the finish. The finish is a process that is meant to reduce wrinkling and maintain the color. You can be able to tell this from the way the material looks and feels after its completed. The size of the yarn or the weave will also affect the quality of the yarn. The more strands a material has then the stronger and finer the linen will be.

When you next purchase your bed linen think about these things and see whether the price matches all the above factors.
