5. Position the outdoor patio heater in a shielded area where it will not be blown off by wind even on ordinary days.
6. Check the hose connections regularly and replace them if necessary to prevent leakage of gas.

When you are not using your outdoor propane heater, keep it covered and put it in safe place, away from the natural elements. The patio umbrellas should also be folded and put away for increased longevity. Cover your patio furniture and your fountain when it is freezing cold. If possible, bring them indoors for that short period to ensure their longevity.
